Russ describes how his mother and father accepted biblical Christianity. His family started attending a small Christian church and Russ went forward to accept Jesus. Russ told his father what had happened after the service and his father revealed that he had accepted Jesus a year earlier, but was afraid to tell anyone because he thought Russ’s mother would have divorced him.

Russ tells about his Mormon family stories and how they struggled within Mormonism. Russ’s family had not gone through the temple to be sealed, so he worried that they would not be together forever. Russ explains how good he felt after his father baptized him into the LDS church, but later wondered about his relationship with the Mormon God because of his struggle with simple sins. Soon after, Russ’s family started investigating biblical Christianity and Russ describes his first encounter with the biblical Jesus.

Ryan finishes his story by explaining some of the reasons why he became a biblical Christian. He talks about the archeological evidence for the Bible and the lack of evidence for Mormon scriptures. Ryan also contrasts the differences between the LDS version of God vs. the biblical explanation of God. 

Ryan belonged to a multigenerational LDS home. Ryan’s father was very open with his children about the deeper doctrines contained within Mormonism. Ryan found that he had many doubts about the doctrines his father taught him and later went inactive as a result. Ryan began attending the LDS church again when his daughter wanted to be baptized at eight years old. As Ryan became actively involved with the LDS church, he heard an answer at Sunday school that caused him to start looking outside Mormonism for truth.
